The Governor’s Reopen Florida Task Force report was released May 1st. The report details the remaining phases for opening the state back up, but does not include a timeline.

Phase two includes opening up:

• Bars, large sporting events, and theme parks at 50% capacity
• restaurants, gyms, retail, large venues (bowling alleys, movie theaters), and personal services (salons, spas) at 75% capacity
• vacation rentals to Florida residents only, with 72 hours between guest check-ins

Phase three includes opening up all business and activities to full capacity with social distancing measures. The report advises on other issues as well, including that K-12 schools and higher education institutions should prepare for full-time, on-campus learning for the 2020-21 school year.

Governor DeSantis participated in a White House press conference on April 28th with President Trump and discussed Florida’s response efforts. The governor will be making an announcement April 29th regarding the reopening of the state, as the statewide stay-at-home order expires on Thursday.
